Sony’s First Wireless Fight Stick Gets an Official Name: Meet the FlexStrike

It’s Evo season — that magical time of year when the fighting game community turns its eyes to Las Vegas for the biggest showdown in competitive gaming. And just ahead of the Evo 2025 kickoff, Sony has finally pulled back the curtain on Project Defiant. Say hello to the newly named FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick.

Originally revealed during the June 2025 State of Play, FlexStrike marks Sony Interactive Entertainment’s first-ever fight stick, and it’s made with serious players in mind. Whether you’re on PS5 or PC, you’ll be able to connect it either via a traditional wired setup or wirelessly using Sony’s low-latency PlayStation Link tech.

Built for Fighters, Designed for Convenience

FlexStrike features mechanical switch buttons, tool-free swappable restrictor gates (square, circular, or octagonal), and internal storage for all your parts — even the included PlayStation Link USB adapter. It also ships with a sleek sling carry case, USB-C cable, and a built-in rechargeable battery, making it perfect for tournaments, local events, or even just heading to a friend’s house for some matches.

More Than Just a Fight Stick

Sony’s not stopping at just build quality. The FlexStrike brings a host of smart features:

  • Simultaneous PlayStation Link Audio: Connect both the FlexStrike and a Pulse Elite headset or Pulse Explore earbuds at once for seamless, low-latency gameplay and voice chat.

  • Dual Connections: Plug in two FlexStrike sticks via a single USB adapter for couch co-op or versus play.

  • Customizable Layouts: All DualSense inputs are here — including the touchpad. You can adjust directional inputs, toggle lever modes, or even lock in your setup to avoid misinputs during high-stakes matches.

  • Dual Controller Support: Keep your DualSense controller connected alongside the FlexStrike for easier menu navigation.

A quick press of the PS button on the stick can even wake your PS5 once everything’s paired — super convenient for quick sessions.

Coming to Evo 2025 – But Not to Buy Just Yet

The FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick will make its first public appearance at Evo 2025, running August 1–3 in Las Vegas. If you’re attending, check it out at the Fight Stick Museum or swing by the Arc System Works booth for a hands-on look — including that slick sling case.

While the stick won’t be available for purchase just yet, Sony confirmed it’s scheduled to launch sometime in 2026.
