Nintendo Switch 2’s Official India Launch Is Unclear but Grey Market is Ready: Report
Official launch or not, expect the Nintendo handheld console to arrive quickly through unofficial channels.
Grey Market Gears Up for Switch 2 Ahead of Official Launch
Despite ongoing discussions around Nintendo's plans, the grey market is already mobilizing in anticipation of the Switch 2's release. Just as with the original Switch, unofficial sellers are preparing to stock the new console immediately after the official pricing is announced. Some eager customers have even begun placing deposits to secure units for launch day.
“I’m not sure I’ll have enough stock after day one, just like last time,” one trader told 0451 Games.
Industry analysts expect grey market prices for the Switch 2 to be significantly inflated at launch—up to 45% above the retail price. That could push early prices to around ₹55,000 (approximately $650), though rates are expected to stabilize around ₹45,000 as availability improves.
If Nintendo chooses to officially release the Switch 2 in India, the console is still expected to carry a premium, with prices estimated to be 20–25% higher than U.S. retail due to import duties and taxes.
