Ubisoft’s long-awaited remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
could be arriving sooner than fans expected. While previous reports suggested the game wouldn’t drop until sometime before April 2026, a new update hints that the release date may be much closer.

During Ubisoft’s recent annual general meeting, Chief Financial Officer Frédérick Duguet offered a promising update. As reported by PC Gamer, Duguet confirmed that the Sands of Time remake is “going to be released very soon.” This news comes as a welcome surprise, especially considering how little had been shared about the game's progress over the past year.

In the same meeting, Duguet also addressed Tencent’s recent investment in Ubisoft. He explained that some of the funds from the partnership would be reinvested to support ongoing and future development efforts, particularly for classic franchises. Notably, he named both Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell as key projects getting renewed focus.
