A Blockbuster Month for Gamers: What’s Dropping in September 2025

If you’ve been waiting for a big month in gaming, September 2025 might be exactly what you’ve been hoping for. This month is stacked with major AAA titles, long-awaited sequels, and exciting expansions across multiple genres. Whether you're into horror, platformers, RPGs, or just a good old-fashioned kart race, there’s plenty to look forward to.

First Week of September

Kicking things off is Hell is Us, a dark and atmospheric title that blends exploration with unsettling storytelling. Set in a fractured, war-torn nation gripped by an unknown force, this horror experience promises tension and mystery in equal measure.

Also arriving is Hollow Knight: Silksong, the long-anticipated follow-up to the critically acclaimed indie hit. This time, players take on the role of Hornet as she journeys through the hauntingly beautiful world of Pharloom in a fluid Metroidvania-style adventure.

Fans of classic action and adventure will also be treated to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants, a DLC that adds new lore and quests to the base game.

Second  Week of September

Big guns arrive mid-month with Borderlands 4. The looter-shooter series returns with brand-new characters, plenty of guns, and the kind of wild chaos that fans have come to expect.

In a more lighthearted vein, Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift speeds onto the scene. With its over-the-top tracks and iconic characters from the comic strip, it's shaping up to be a fun arcade-style racer.

Third Week of September

The zombie apocalypse gets an upgrade in Dying Light: The Beast, an expansion that brings new infected types, more areas to explore, and fresh weapons into the parkour-fueled survival world.

Also out this week is LEGO Voyagers, a party game that lets players dive into mash-up competitions using bricks from classic LEGO themes like Space, Pirates, and more.

Last Week of September

The final week of September brings with it some serious heavy hitters. First up, Silent Hill f takes the series in a new direction, with a 1960s Japan setting shrouded in supernatural fog and psychological dread.

Meanwhile, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds offers high-speed competition featuring Sonic and other Sega icons, now with new hoverboard mechanics to shake things up.

Wrapping up the month is Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, a new strategy RPG set in one of the most beloved worlds in the Final Fantasy universe. Expect rich tactical gameplay and a deep, politically charged storyline.
